Louisiana’s liquified natural gas industry has a new group to lobby lawmakers and educate the public about its impact.
Five LNG firms have partnered with the World Trade Center of New Orleans to create the Louisiana Energy Export Association. The companies include G2, Lake Charles LNG, Magnolia LNG, Tellurian and Venture Global and have plans to invest over $60 billion in the state.
Associate members include The Louisiana Oil and Gas Association and the Louisiana Mid Continental Oil and Gas Association.
“LEEA will serve as a focal point for communicating to the public and state, local and federal policymakers the increasing value of the LNG industry to Louisiana’s economy and workforce, and the exponential future benefits a healthy LNG investment climate will have on our state and region,” WTCNO CEO Caitlin Cain said in a statement.
